Industrial and Systems Engineering Specific Student Organizations

ISE majors can participate in student organizations specific to the major. Students gain leadership and professional experience along with participation in national collegiate competitions.

The Industrial Engineering Honor Society. Both academic excellence and leadership in service activities is emphasized for membership. Scholarship opportunities are also available.

The Student Chapter of IISE at RU is committed to the promotion of the industrial engineering profession. Professional activities include plant tours, industry speakers, alumni night, technical paper contests, and an engineering outreach program. Social activities include fall and spring picnics, Freshman night, and a holiday mixer. By joining this society, each student receives a complimentary copy of Industrial Engineering with dues payment.

The Student Chapter of SME at Rutgers University is committed to the promotion of manufacturing engineering. There are plant tours, industry speakers, and scholarship opportunities. Upon joining this society, each student receives a free subscription to Manufacturing Engineering with dues payment.

The goal of the student chapter of INFORMS at Rutgers University is to encourage interest in Operations Research, Analytics, and the Management Sciences, through seminars, social events, and visits to companies actively using such quantitative techniques. The Chapter also provides a forum for sharing information about educational and research opportunities, internships, and summer job possibilities.

Tau Beta Pi is the National Engineering Honor Society. Academic excellence and service to the University community are stressed. Membership is open to juniors and seniors who rank near the very top in their respective classes.

The School of Engineering provides many opportunities for students to become involved in activities outside the classroom. More than 40 engineering-specific student organizations offer opportunities for leadership, friendship, and exploration.
