Industrial and Systems Engineering professor James T. Luxhøj was recently celebrated by his alma mater with his induction into the Academy of Distinguished Alumni established by the Industrial and Systems Engineering Department at Virginia Tech. The academy recognizes leaders in the field who have served their profession and society with distinction. Luxhøj, who received his bachelors, masters, and doctoral degrees from Virginia Tech, was honored at an event in Blacksburg on April 28, 2017.
Luxhøj’s teaching and research interests are in the areas of risk and decision analysis, engineering economics, logistics engineering, and supply chain management. His research related to aviation safety and risk analysis has received funding from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), and Office of Naval Research (ONR).
